Matthew Scott Winslow

It’s so much easier to sum oneself up with bullet points than in narrative format, but we’ll try anyway.

To pay the bills, I’m an assistant registrar at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. I also am a freelance editor on the side. I used to be a full-time editor, but at work they figured out I could also juggle lots of balls, so I got “promoted”. (At least that’s the term they use; I consider it more a punishment.)

But my real passion is literature. I’ve a BA in English from the aforementioned institute of higher learning and I began (but never finished) an MA in medieval literature and language at Arizona State. I read and when I’m not reading, I review books. Currently I review for Deep Magic, Infuze, and the Mythopoeic Society. I’ve also reviewed for Greenman Review.

I would call myself a writer, but my writings are very thin and very sparse. Like everyone else, I’ve got the Great American Fantasy Novel residing in my head, but it takes time to get it out onto paper and my wife and I currently have seven children (and holding!) so time is not something I have much of.
